Acorn Water Ltd
 Company History
Eileen and William Holland established Acorn Chemicals Ltd in 1991. Originally the company operated from home, but after a few years it needed its own premises. In 1995 its sister company Acorn Environmental Ltd obtained a site and built a premises on the Glasslyn Road, Bandon, Cork. In February 1996 the business was transferred to the Glasslyn Road, Bandon. Since then the company has been run by founding director Eileen Holland, together with her staff and has been renamed to Acorn Water
What We Do
Liquid aluminium sulphate is manufactured for use in water treatment throughout Ireland. Ferric sulphate is also supplied for Phosphate removal in wastewater treatment plants throughout Ireland. This product is currently imported from the UK, but from January 2002, Acorn plans to begin production of this product.
The laboratory has been recently extended and upgraded. For the past two years the laboratory concentrated mainly on water analysis. However, this has now been expanded to cover a variety of analysis, including environmental analysis. We measure physical and chemical parameters such as pH, ammonia, orthophosphate, BOD, COD, suspended solids and many more which are now required by a lot of companies to comply with strict new IPC Licence Regulations.

Iron/Manganese: causes brown and black staining in sinks.
Acidity: causes damage to copper fittings, sinks, baths and hair.
Water Hardeness: causes scaling in kettles, plumbing, heating etc.
Ultra Violet Systems: Permanently sterilise your water.
